Save energy and use it efficiently is our objective and use renewable energies that nature gives us is one of the best ways we have to get it. This is a strategic priority, and more in a country like Spain, with a high dependence on external supplies.

Increase energy efficiency means improving our quality of life. We can have the same or more comfort with less energy consumption.

Since the early nineties until recently, the energy consumption of Spanish households and its buildings has evolved with the population growth at a rate even 5 times higher. It is consequence of increased domestic equipment, machinery, etc.

Oil and electric power consumption are the most energy sources used but renewable energies are increasing its importance in energy supply of housing.

 

BUILDING ENERGY CERTIFICATION

The Royal Decree 47/2007 makes it mandatory for new buildings the issuance of an energy certificate that must be submitted at the time of sale or rental along with documentation of it. Nowadays, all European Union countries have adopted similar procedures into Spanish regarding certification of energy efficiency of buildings. Thanks to energy certification, buyers can know the quality of a building or housing before buying it. Furthermore, developers and builders have to use structural components and equipment of higher quality in order to achieve a lower energy demand and a better assessment. Using this objective information on the energy characteristics of the building there is greater transparency in the housing market. Then, developers are forced to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. Before the certificacion, It has to be done an energy rating by software like CALENER.

Natural lighting (0% consumption on sunny days)
The natural lighting system collects sunlight from any angle and filters it thoroughly. Most of European countries do not have oil reserves or natural gas. However, at present nearly 100% of European land transport (exept rail) is carried out using oil as fuel.
